After a long time of no posts here is another update/life change announcement. Next month we will be moving to Klamath Falls in southern Oregon. I am doing the echo-cardiology program there at OIT. We went down there the other day and found a place to live and Alice has been getting job interviews. We are not crazy about trading our wonderful neighborhood here in SE Portland for K-Falls. There seems to be an extreme lack of pride in personal property in Klamath (lots of junk in peoples front yards). Hopefully our first impression will not define the whole experience of living there. The nature surrounding the town is breathtaking and I look forward to spending lots of time outdoors, unfortunately the city fails to due any justice to the natural beauty.
We are very excited about our new house. It has three bedrooms, a huge kitchen, and washer & dryer hookups (something we have not had since before we where married).
My program at OIT should only take about 2 years, hopefully shorter than longer. But when I am done I will be able to get a good job almost anywhere I want. The program has a very high graduation rate and over 90% of graduates find jobs, which is encouraging.
It is hard having to say goodbye to all of our friends and family and putting a 5 hour drive between everything and everyone that we know. Right now I am just trying to stay positive and look at the long term goal and rewards for going through with this and trusting that God will provide and keep us safe as we embark on this new chapter. We will miss Portland and all our friends and family immensely and will take every opportunity we can to see you.
On a different note. I recently rediscovered and old band called The Radio Dept. It's quite good, if I do say so myself. The Radio Dept. - I Don't Like It Like This

Hello Again Internet!
So much has happened in the past few months. About a month ago I quit my job because they would work with my school schedule and with gas prices so high my income was a lowly pizza cook was frankly not worth it. As you might be wondering "why is there a radiograph in your post?" As fate would have it on my second to last day of work we where short staffed and very busy. I had multiple orders and was running (literally) to get everything done on time. Around 6pm during the peak of the rush I came around a corner and because of how quickly I was moving I rammed my hand into some metal shelving. The impact caused a fracture to the right fifth metacarple, also called a boxers fracture. Because of these types of fractures are unstable I needed to have a steel pin to keep the bone from moving out of place. Having never broken a bone before it has been an eye opening ordeal. Thankfully my thumb, pointer, and middle finger still work so everyday tasks are still doable. Thank you Alice for taking care of everything while I heal :-)

2011
I think I might rename this blog the Lazarus Project if not for the only fact it has been resurrected and re-resurrected so many times during its existence. Lots has happened since my last posting. We moved from Eugene to Portland (huzzah!). The city is great, we are loving it. Our apartment is lacking in many areas and is about 50 years old so it has some issues needles to say. Ventilation is poor so we get loads of condensation and square footage is scarce. Thankfully Ikea is in our backyard so storage solutions are ample (plus Ikea food is awesome).
Last week our cat Carl got very sick and had to spend a few days at the animal hospital. The little guy gave us a scare but he is back to his old self. Good thing we got our tax refund. We also have pet insurance so we will be making a claim on that. I am still working at the Market of Choice. Alice has been doing the nanny circuit along with volunteering with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Health). My camera has been neglected lately, been mostly taking pictures of our food and putting it up on the other blog
p.s. Here is some great music I came across while writing this post

Spring
This post is long overdue. Life has been very busy for Alice and I over the past weeks. Next monday Alice will be graduating from the U of O. I am so proud of her. I only wish I was graduating myself, at least half of us will be college graduates :) In September we will be moving to Portland. We are both very excited for this. Alice is planning on getting a post-baccalaureate degree in human resources from Portland State. As for myself I have been researching and investigating the Radiography program at PCC. It is only a 2 year program and the job field is growing exponentially with people getting older and the need for x-rays, MRIs and such. As for now my history degree will be put on hold. I think that I will still like to teach at some point in my life, however a Radiography pays twice as much as a teaching position and I like working with people. My original aspirations of collegium where in the medical field so this is something I know I will enjoy and find rewarding. And now here are some pictures of the past month or so.

This is from the Eugene Marathon that our friends Lizzy and Sara participated in. There were over 3000 runners this year.

Pictures From The Past Few Months
A while back we were driving back to Eugene from Salem and the sunset was amazing, I wish there were better spots to take pictures from the side of the highway. It was a sight to behold and my picture hardly dose it justice.

This past summer was one of weddings (including our own) This is from our friends Sarah and Caleb

This was from our friends Mary-Anne and Connor in West Salem

I got Alice a juicer for her birthday. This thing is awesome, it sounds like a jet engine when you first turn it on, but its not so noisy that you don't like it (It's a good thing). We have been having a lot of fun discovering different fruit and produce combinations.
